Luke
was bred here at Nyassa but sadly is no longer with us. While in the prime
of life, like many before him, he just wasn’t strong enough to win his
final battle with the insidious cancer that lay so deep within him. He was
an affectionate and gentle character of excellent construction taking the
best of both his sire and dam. Although only lightly shown, at the
Southern Rhodesian Ridgeback Association Championship Show 2002, his very
first show, he was awarded Best Puppy in Show under Breed Specialist Mr
Jans Coppins (Netherlands). Following this, at the East of England
Championship Dog Show 2002, under Breed Specialist Mrs Toni Agnew, he was
awarded the RCC.
After
these early and deserved successes Luke decided that showing just wasn’t
for him, preferring to stay tucked up at home with his mum Kari, dad Beks,
and the other members of the Nyassa Pack.
